NO MERE MORTAL Decagon Book 1 An Excerpt

Venus took Bolt’s face between her hands. “I understand. You needed an incentive. It’s a difficult task convincing a human she’s a demigod and your world’s savior.”

“But my reasons were self-serving.”

“Yet you’ve saved me again and again. Protected and cared for me.  I love how that makes me feel. And you didn’t have to admit your motives, but you did, which makes you honest. A trait I admire.”

Her words of forgiveness released her negative emotions and healed her heart, soul, and mind. And Bolt’s, too, judging by the softness in his eyes.

“I like the way your brain works.”

“Do you appreciate my mind and my body?” Venus unbuttoned Bolt’s tunic

Bolt shrugged it away, the undershirt he wore followed, and his soft look deepened to desire. “You know I do.”

Venus pressed a kiss to Bolt’s bare skin. He sucked in his breath, waved his palm along her zipper, and she found herself naked. Dress and underwear pooled around her feet…

About Amara Dey by Amara Dey

Hi, I’m Paranormal Romance Author, AMARA DEY, and in my fictional world, the normal and paranormal collide to enchant you.

Born in Guyana, South America, I have lived in London, England, for most of my adult life.  And my stories have a strong multi-racial and multi-cultural mix. But why do I write this genre?  Well, my inspiration comes from the enjoyment I derive from reading Sexy Paranormal Romances – the higher the heat level, the better.  I loved the Nocturne Series published by Harlequin.  I swear, if NO MERE MORTAL had a scent, its fragrance would be Passionflower for sure.  Sweet, salty, erotic, and earthy.

And here’s a titbit about my characters in NO MERE MORTAL.  They were inspired by the Latin American pantheon of Gods known as the Orishas.  Like Greek/Roman/Norse in their magical abilities, but exotic.  A very good Cuban friend of mine used to tell me his childhood stories about them, and I became fascinated.  So, wanting to bring something new to the table, I feature the Orishas in this series as brothers-in-arms to my fictional pantheon, the Decagons.  I like to be original and deliver what readers want.  Check out an extract of NO MERE MORTAL at (www.amaradey.uk/series-and-extracts#Extract1).

For me, a favorite place to write is in my sunroom, looking out onto my pretty garden. The range of colors in my flower beds and plant pots, to my mind, represent aspects of my characters’ personalities.  Red for passion and romance, purples for honor and strength – physically and mentally. At the same time, burnt orange and yellow add a touch of the exotic.

Apart from writing, reading is a favored pastime, along with watching movies, travel, and Salsa dancing. But COVID-19 has stopped those last two – at least for now.  I hold a Degree in Business Studies and have worked in the Admin side of finance, law, and law enforcement over the years. Since high school, I have been writing on and off, but I truly felt like an Author when I finished this, my first novel.  (www.amaradey.uk/bio).
