What to Read Next –More Than You Know by Nan Rossiter
To be honest, as one of four sisters, what first attracted me to More Than You Know, was that the three, main characters are sisters. This is a story of three sisters who reunite in New Hampshire to bury their mother and dispose of her personal effects. At the heart of this story is the special bond between these girls who were raised in a female household by a single mom. Isak, Rumer and Beryl (named after authors) are at different stages in their lives, but clearly have a loving and close sisterhood. Yet, there are issues that they have not yet shared with one another.
Surprisingly, the deceased Mia Graham also had secrets she managed to keep from her children her entire life. It seems that Mia’s quiet life raising three girls was not quite what it seemed. When Mia’s memoir is discovered, the reader is rewarded with a book within a book. In addition to a tale of a new romance for Beryl, and recommitment to relationships by Isak and Rumer, the reader discovers the romance, passion and dreams that Mia never revealed to her own family.
This book will hold your interest and satisfy your craving for a happy ending. As a matter of fact, everything is tied up very nicely. Despite a glimpse at the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease, you actually have that life-affirming moment of love, romance and family.
Sisters have a special relationship and this book showcases it well. When you finish More Than You Know, you will want to call your siblings.
Just for Authors – “255 Blog Post Ideas That’ll Tantalize Your Readers in 2019”
2019 may be half over – okay, more than half – but if you followed my advice from last week’s Just for Authors (insert link) and started following the sage advice of Your Content Empire, then you are generating a lot of content. So now might be the time you need some post ideas. And this post has a ton of them. Two hundred and fifty-five to be precise. Smart Blogger, authors of the list claim “this is the biggest, most in-depth list of blog post ideas available on the web.” I’ve read it and I’m not arguing.
They break the list into categories like Practical Ideas or Entertaining Ideas or Timely or Engaging Ideas. In my opinion, many overlap categories beautifully. Not enough? Smart Blogger offers 63 questions that generate additional post ideas. My favorite is post idea is #197 What is this year’s bad habit you’re trying to break? It’s not your usual topic for sure, but it is an honest and vulnerable way to share a bit of yourself with your readers.
For the record, I am trying to watch less TV in general, less news specifically. I spend time in front of the TV that I should spend writing, or exercising, or so many other things. But once I turn it on, I have trouble turning it off. Suggestions welcome!
