What to Read Next – Thanks to the Author’s who’ve Influenced Me
Looking for a great romance read? I recommend you pick up any book from these fabulous romance authors who inspired me to do better, one page at a time:
Sylvia Day, CD Reiss, Ashley Jade, K Bromberg, Kate Canterbary, L.J. Shen, Louise Bay, Pennie Reid. Let’s not forget Thomas Hardy, Jane Austen, George Eliot, or Louisa May Alcott. I must remember LM Montgomery on that list too.
I am so thankful for these artists who put pen to paper – or fingers to keyboard – to create magic. These are the authors who inspire me day in and day out with their inventive plots and imaginative turn of phrase, with characters I swear I know personally or wish I did. These are writers who can unapologetically pen hot sex that leaps off the page. These authors make your heart race, keep you up all night promising just one more chapter.
Am I thankful for dozens of other authors, who pen fiction and non-fiction alike? You bet. But today I honor the romance writers.
Oh yes, this Thanksgiving, I give thanks for them and so many more.
Gem of the Week – My Heartfelt Thanks to YOU
This week and every week, the gems for which I am most grateful is my fans, my followers and supporters, especially the ones who take time to reach out and write a review or drop me a line to share something about themselves or just say hi. These are the people for whom I create stories, the people I try to speak to with my blogs, newsletters and of course with my novels. You are the ones who keep me going day after day, through writer’s block and edits, rewrites and bad reviews. Readers are the reason I am in front of my computer at 6 am day after day, month after month. You are the true gems.
Not Just for Authors – This is Not a Solo Act
This Thanksgiving, my thanks to the wise ones who guide me and support me:
my assistant Crystal – who keeps this whole enterprise operational
my cover designer, Megan – who designs and redesigns to capture my ideas
my coach, Jen – who silences the negatives, provides structure and makes me laugh
my accountability partners, Ruxandra and Janine – friends and colleagues who care
my editors, Monica and Linda – sisters who are demanding as hell in these jobs
my Alpha reader, Sandy and my Beta readers – my books are so much better because of you
Reviewers and bloggers – spreading the word to help me succeed
Fellow Authors – sources of ideas, sharer of my work, cheering squad
A huge note of gratitude to the ones who care for authors, who blog just for us, create books, webinars, videos and newsletters for people like me, trying to do it on my own. These are my teachers and helpers, imparting their wisdom on writing, publishing, marketing, email and newsletters, pricing, social media and some days just on how to keep going. A big thanks to these experts whose newsletters I study, webinars I attend, books I read, apps I buy, words I hang on.
To my huge and unflappable support team, thank you.
And to all, Happy Thanksgiving.
