or Anyone you Love and that can still arrive by Christmas Day.
Are you still racking your brain for a creative idea of what to buy your wife/sister/girlfriend/lover/daughter, the writer in your life? Not another journal or a a lovely pen like last year.
It’s time to stop limiting your thinking to the traditional tote or a tee that has a book title on it. And for heaven’s sake, don’t rely on a quick Google search of “gifts for writers.” Those clichéd ideas are too niche specific and tired. Who wants another mug with a cute saying about writing on it? Not me!
Instead, remember that writers are people too.
What writers special is their creativity, sure, and feeding that is a great way to nurture their craft and help them accomplish their goals. If you do that for them, they will know you are supportive and loving.
Writers are also tethered to their desks most of the time, so making them more comfortable, and healthier, in their workspace is a wonderful way to show them how much you care. After that, and only after, can you fall back on a few clever niche specific gifts.
With that in mind, here are thirteen of my favorite gifts for 2024 that you can still purchase in time for the holidays. They fit every budget and I honestly believe any writer in your life will appreciate them, think you put in special effort, and they will sincerely enjoy your gift.
FYI…I tested the waters with several writer friends of mine just to be sure and they approved this list and gave their input.
So, show someone you love a little love, and if one or two catch your eye, feel free to buy yourself a little something too

11/ Membership in a writing group or fees for a Writing Conference
Ongoing support, the professional kind that you simply cannot give the writer in your life can be a priceless gift that keeps on giving. Consider an organization that offers courses or regular writing sprints for that added sense of community. Or a conference that comes with regular followup contact. If it can be niche specific even better. Two that I like are Contemporary Romance Writers for an organization and Inkers Con for a conference, which will be 100% virtual in 2025. Both deliver a lot for the dollars.
